Featured Experience in Historic Heritage

Cairns School of Arts Adaptive Reuse Development

Converge was commissioned by the Cairns Regional Council to provide heritage advice for the redevelopment of the Queensland heritage-listed School of Arts in the Cairns central business district. We also prepared the public art brief for the project, which examined potential themes and opportunities to guide the tendering and production of public art and also the relevant resources and contacts required to complete the program.

Local Heritage Registers and Overlays

Converge has undertaken a substantial number of local heritage studies in the last five years resulting in heritage registers and overlays that ensure councils comply with the Queensland Heritage Act 1992 and state planning requirements.

Fraser Coast Regional Council Conservation Management Plans

Converge provided a series of individual conservation management plans (CMPs) for a range of places entered on the Queensland Heritage Register and owned by the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

Glengarry Homestead Conservation Program

Converge updated a older conservation management plan (CMP) for 19th century Glengarry Homestead located in the Boyne Valley, south of Calliope. The homestead complex is owned by the Gladstone Area Waterboard (GAWB) and the Waterboard in particular needed an updated CMP with a practical and achievable implementation plan.
